President Buhari’s say on IPOB and Oduduwa republic during his speech

As Nigeria marks her 61st Independence Anniversary today, President Muhammadu Buhari has taken out his time to address the nation once again.

During his speech, he made three important points as it regards to Biafra and Oduduwa Republics agitation. First, President Buhari revealed that one lawmaker in the National Assembly is among those who are financing the leaders of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho, the Yoruba activist leader.

As it stands now, most Nigerians are asking now asking to know who this lawmaker is and what is his or her motive? Most Nigerians are waiting patiently to hear the name of this lawmaker.

Secondly, President Buhari made it known to those who are agitating for Biafra and Oduduwa Republics that the unity of Nigeria is not negotiable. According to President Buhari, he stated it clearly that Nigeria is for everyone, making it known that Nigerians must work together, so as to achieve a common goal.

Thirdly, President Buhari threatened to arrest and prosecute people sponsoring violence and hate speeches, in the name of Biafra or Oduduwa. President Buhari stated it clearly that the aim of his government is not to fight for peace, but to settle things peacefully without spilling any blood. So, to avoid being arrested, it will be better for all of us to stop making use of hate speeches and embrace peace, so that our country will move forward.

I really think that President Buhari has made valid points here. But I still think that the best and the only way to stop all these agitations going on in different parts of the country is to treat all Nigerians the same way. Once all Nigerians are treated the same way, all these agitations will certainly become history.
