Wike: Nigeria a Failure at 61, Country May Soon Exist Only By Name

Governor Nyesen Wike of Rivers State has again taken shots at President Muhammadu Buhari and his administration.

Known for his persistent criticism of Buhari and the All Progressive Congress (APC) Government, Wike has taken the opportunity provided by Nigeria’s upcoming independence anniversary to take further shots at the president. He also used the opportunity to give his own review of how the country has fared in its 61 years of existence. According to the vocal Governor, Nigeria has not fared well. The country, according to him has failed woefully and deserve the F9 failure mark. He also lambasted the president for plunging the country into further debt and blamed the legislature for supporting him.

In a statement made available to newsmen by his media aide, Kelvin Ebiri, Wike insisted that Nigeria has failed and needs God’s intervention to survive, warning that she may soon exist only by name.

According to him, 61 years after independence, Nigeria was still grappling with leadership challenges. Nigerians, he insisted have nothing to celebrate as the country marks 61st Independence anniversary because of the hatred and mediocrity promoted by the country’s leaders. The country, he stressed is now full of enmity, divisions, hatred, and ethnicity. The Governor however urged citizens to ask what they have done to remedy this and pray for God’s intervention.
